People Tested, Dog Approved!

Going on a long trip? Leave your dog with us! Your dog will get up to 10 hours of play every day you're away, and you can watch them on our webcams from anywhere.

When USD 383 schools are closed (due to inclement weather), Howl-A-Dayz is closed for daycare. However, we are still open for boarding clients 9AM to Noon and 4PM to 6PM!

How to Get Started:

The first step to getting your dog a reservation is to call and schedule a temperament evaluation. We require every dog that comes to undergo a two hour screening to ensure everyone at Howl-A-Dayz a safe visit! We schedule these Monday through Saturday starting at 10AM or 2PM. Please be prepared to provide the following:

  • Proof of Current Vaccinations
    • Influenza - (Beginning January 1st, 2014)
Dog flu is a contagious respiratory disease in dogs caused by a specific Type A influenza virus referred to as a “canine influenza virus.” This is a disease of dogs, not of humans. (More Info)
    • Bordatella - (Required Annually)
This vaccination helps prevent your dog from catching Kennel Cough, although it DOES NOT guarantee it. This is relatively common in kennel environments and is especially important for very young and very old dogs. (More Info)
    • Rabies - (Required Every 1, 2, or 3 Years)
This vaccination is also required by the city to help keep your dog from catching rabies from any other animal it may come in contact with. Your vet can provide vaccines that don't expire for up to three years. (More Info)
    • Distemper/Parvo - (Required Every 1, 2, or 3 Years)
These vaccines are usually part of a multivaccine that protect against distemper, parvo, caronavirus and many others. It will most likely be listed as DA2PP or DHPP on your vet records. (More Info)
    • Spay/Neuter - (Required If Over 6 Months Old)
This is usually apparent from the dog information section of your records. Under the listing for Sex, a spay will show as Sex: S Female and a neuter will show as Sex: N Male. It is important to note that we do not need your dog's entire medical history, just our required portions and anything else you believe we should be aware of.
  • Registration Forms
  • Client Contract Agreement
  • $10 enrollment fee

After your dog(s) pass the temperament evaluation, you are free to schedule reservations for boarding or daycare at any time! Weekends and Holidays fill up quickly so try to schedule a week in advance (more for holidays) when possible.

What to Bring When Boarding:

  • Your Dog's Food (Preferably in a Sealed Container with its Name)
  • Treats/Chews as needed
  • Dog beds, blankets, or towels
  • Toys for use in kennel
  • Medications if needed ($1 fee per day)
  • Boarding Form

We provide each dog with clean bowls and bedding (with your permission) every day. After their bedtime potty break, all of are boarding clients are given a Kong filled with either Peanut Butter or a crunchy grain free treat! (With your permission) We can also feed your dog Purina Dog Chow and/or canned wet food for a cost of $2 per day.

What will my dog's day look like?

We are proud to offer a fun, safe and well rounded experience for our canine clients! Research shows that dogs thrive in an environment where play and rest are alternated. All of our overnight guests will get at least five hours of "Free-Style" play time in our indoor/supervised (climate controlled) play areas throughout each day! Every evening between the hours of 9 and 11 P.M.

We let the dogs out for a potty break and provide them with a goodnight snack of a Kong filled with peanut butter or a crunchy grain free treat!
